Who we are
Smart Notifications is operated by Erbacci LTD, a company registered in Cyprus (reg. HE 457237), Strovolou 77, Strovolos Center, Flat/Office 301, Strovolos 2018, Lefkosia (Nicosia), Cyprus. Erbacci LTD is the data controller. For any privacy question or request, write to info@erbacciltd.com.
Smart Notifications works alongside the Ring app. It does not change, disable or replace anything in Ring, and your Ring notifications continue to work exactly as before.
What the app does with your Ring account
When you link your Ring account, the app can read a limited set of data through the Ring Partner API and receive event notifications from Ring. Here is everything, and what each item is for:
| Data | Why |
|---|---|
| Device metadata — device ID, name, type, online/offline status, location | To list your cameras so you can set a sound and rules for each one, and to show when a camera of yours is offline. |
| Event notifications (webhooks) — motion detected, doorbell pressed, device added or removed, subscription changes | These are what the app reacts to. Each event carries a type and, for motion, Ring's own classification of what moved. |
| Image snapshot, on an event | Retrieved only when a notification is about to be sent, and only if you left the snapshot option on, so you can see what happened without opening another app. |
| Your email address | To sign you in with a one-time code, and to send account and subscription notices. |
The app never retrieves video, never listens to audio, and never polls your cameras. It fetches a snapshot only in response to an event you asked to be notified about.
No artificial intelligence, and no training
Smart Notifications performs no image analysis of any kind. There is no computer-vision model, no machine learning, and no third-party AI service in this app.
When you switch on "people only", the app is not looking at the picture. It reads the classification Ring itself provides in the event and simply decides whether to notify you. Snapshots are stored briefly and shown to you, never examined.
Your Ring media and data are not used to train, fine-tune or improve any model, ours or anyone else's. There is no model here to train.
Images returned by Ring carry Ring's own watermark. They are displayed to you exactly as received; the app does not remove, crop or alter it.
How long anything is kept
| What | Kept for |
|---|---|
| Snapshots | 24 hours, then deleted automatically by storage policy. |
| Event history (what happened, and what the rules decided about it) | 30 days, then deleted automatically. |
| Daily counts used for your statistics | 90 days, then deleted automatically. |
| Your account, camera rules, and household members | Until you delete your account or unlink the integration. |
If you unlink Smart Notifications from the Ring app, or if a camera is removed, the app acts on Ring's notification of that and deletes the corresponding data.
Who else is involved
- Amazon Web Services — hosting, storage and databases (US East region). This is where the app runs and where the data above lives. No AI service is used.
- Resend — delivers your sign-in codes, household invitations and account emails. Resend receives an email address and the message; it never receives camera images or device data.
- Apple (APNs) and Google (FCM) — deliver push notifications to your phone.
- Ring Billing System — handles payment if you subscribe. It processes transaction data only, never camera data.
Nobody else receives your data. We do not sell or rent personal information, we do not use it for advertising or profiling, and we have no law-enforcement integration and share no data with law enforcement.
Your choices and your rights
- Delete everything, from inside the app. Settings → Delete account and data. This removes your account, rules, event history, statistics and snapshots, and discards the Ring tokens — immediately, not on a schedule.
- Unlink at any time from the Ring app. Processing stops and your data is deleted.
- Turn snapshots off per camera, and no image will be fetched or stored for it at all.
- You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your data, and object to processing, by writing to info@erbacciltd.com. As an EU-based controller serving users in the United States, we honour GDPR rights and applicable US state privacy rights, including those under the CCPA.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and at rest using AWS-managed encryption. Access to production systems is restricted with least-privilege AWS IAM roles and limited to team members who need it. Ring account tokens are stored encrypted server-side and are never exposed to the app on your phone. System activity is logged and monitored.
We rely on AWS's certified infrastructure for platform security. Erbacci LTD does not itself hold a SOC 2 attestation and does not currently engage a third-party penetration-testing firm.
Children
Smart Notifications is not directed to children under 13, contains no content aimed at children, and is not marketed to them. It is intended for adult property owners and residents.
Changes
If this policy changes we will update the effective date above, and any change that materially affects how data is used is submitted to Ring for re-certification before it takes effect.
Not a safety service
Smart Notifications is a convenience tool for managing camera notifications. It is not an emergency, security or life-safety service, and must not be relied upon as one.
